Flavorwave Oven Recipes

1 tbsp olive oil (15 ml)

24 medium button mushrooms, cleaned with damp towel, stems removed and reserved

1 pinch Salt and pepper to taste

Stuffing

1½ tsp olive oil (7 ml)

1 lb Italian sausage, casing removed and crumbled (450 g)

4 garlic cloves, finely chopped

24 stems mushrooms, finely chopped

1 stalk celery, including leafy top from the heart of the stalk, chopped

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 small red bell pepper, seeded and chopped

1 pkg (10 oz.) frozen spinach, defrosted and squeezed dry (285 g)

3 slices white bread, toasted and buttered, chopped into small dice

½ cup Mozzarella cheese, grated (125 ml)

 

1. Preheat Flavorwave oven to 500°F (240°C).

2. Heat skillet over medium high heat. Add 1 tablespoon oil, mushroom caps, rounded part down, and season both sides with salt and pepper.. Sauté caps 5 minutes or until lightly browned and tender around the edges. Turn mushroom caps to let juices drain away from the insides. Transfer caps to the Flavorwave optional browning tray.

3. Using the same skillet, heat at medium high, add a teaspoon or more as needed. Brown crumbled sausage in heated skillet for about 3 minutes.

4. In the Flavorwave Turbo Stick blender bowl, add garlic cloves, mushrooms stems, celery, onion, and red pepper and blend until finely chopped and mixed together.

5. Remove mixture from the bowl, sauté mixture with sausage in skillet over medium -high heat for another 4 minutes. Add spinach and stir into mixture. Add chopped bread and cheese to the skillet and mix stuffing until bread is moist and stuffing is combined, about 2 minutes.

6. Fill mushroom caps caps using s spoon. Place browning tray on top rack of the Flavorwave oven, reduce heat to 450°F (220°C). Bake 6 to 8 minutes to crisp edges of stuffing and set in mushrooms. Serve.
